Three Sons Lobster & Fish started as a smack (a fishing boat used to transport the catch to market) off the coast of Cliff Island in Casco Bay. Each day the lobster men haul their gear and Whenhead to the smack to sell their catch. At the end of the day, The Three Sons (which is the name of their smack) heads for Portland to drop off the days catch. The company now has a facility on the wharf in Portland but still run an operation off Cliff Island where summer visitors can buy directly from the float.
