Pine Point is home to the venerable Bayley’s Lobster Pound. They’ve been in operation for almost 100 years so we figure they know a thing or two about lobster. The lobster supply chain can get confusing with boat owners selling to wholesales who sell to pound owners…. It’s not always easy to determine how many hands a lobster has passed through, how long ago it was caught and how it has been treated. We always try to find sellers who are close to the boats. That’s Bayley’s. They’ve been around for so long that they buy direct from the boats, insuring that their lobsters are fresh and delicious. They even have a web page that introduces you to the lobstermen they buy from. This is the only place we know that sells Lobster Roe, the much coveted caviar of lobster, which is a real treat and a wonderful addition to a bisque. These folks are a quality supplier for your overnight lobsters and clams and if you’re ever in the area, stop by for a fresh made lobster roll. Trust us – it’s really good.
